*giveaway ended* Silpat Baking Mat Giveaway!

by Sally on November 21, 2012 · 708 comments

**giveaway has ended**

Tis the season for giving and a giveaway is in tall order today. :)

I’m ready to share the love with all of you these next few weeks and am planning for a few giveaways during the holidays.

Today you have the chance to win one of my very favorite kitchen tools – a Silpat silicone baking mat.  The item you see in practically ALL of my photos and something I could not live without in all of my baking and non-baking adventures.

Holiday baking season is upon us and your new BFF will be a Silpat.

The flexible, reusable, and sturdy silicone mats eliminate the need to grease or paper-line your baking sheet.  They reduce browning and allow the heat to fully distribute around each and every corner of your food item during the baking process.

Silpats also allow your cookies to bake up thicker and spread less. My Oatmeal Raisinet Cookies wouldn’t have been nearly as thick if it weren’t for my Silpat!

Silpats are also an excellent surface for kneading or rolling out your dough.

Baking a pumpkin pie this season?  Avoid a sticky mess and roll out your pie crust on your new Silpat.

Have any bakers on your list?  Give them the gift that will give back again and again.  Perfect cookies, roasted veggies, batches of granola, a small pizza, baked potatoes, fish, baked chicken, and more.  We’ve even made NACHOS on our Silpats before.  When I make chocolate covered pretzels or cookie dough truffles, I put the chocolate covered items on my non-stick Silpat to avoid a chocolate mess.

A Silpat also makes drizzling cakes, cupcakes, and breads a breeze – it catches all of the excess!

Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread with a hefty drizzle of glaze.

Every single one of the cookies you’ll find on Sally’s Baking Addiction is baked on a Silpat liner.   I have three of them.  You could say I am obsessed.

The very best attribute of these?  Clean-up is a piece of cake!  Wipe off any crumbs and stick it in the dishwasher.  No scrubbing, soaking, or soapy disasters. Easy peasy!

My wonderful friend and partner, Barbara from The Kitchen Outlet, has agreed to send one lucky winner a new Silpat baking mat just in time for the holidays.

We’d love to give you the chance to win my most used kitchen tool. :)

Comment below and have a chance to win 1 (one)  Silpat Baking Mat of your own!

HOW TO ENTER:

1) For an entry, comment below and tell me what you’d bake up on your new Silpat!

My son’s school here in New Jersey will be having a bake sale to raise money to help the victims of hurricane Sandy, many of whom still have no heat or power or have had their homes destroyed. Thankfully, our power is back because my oven will be cranking out lots of cookies, bars, cupcakes, etc. I have no doubt the silpat will come in very handy.
