Photo A Day, February.

Welcome back to my Photo A Day posts!

My gosh, February was a whirlwind. How is it already over? Lots of snow, food, 5 degree weather, girls’ nights, chocolate, and cookbooks. I’m hitting my yoga mat again (I took a couple months off) and it’s feeling incredible. Helps calm my nerves, especially when I receive HUGE butterflies-in-my-stomach news. See Feb 27!

Feb 1. My favorite shoes. I bought them for a steal on sale in January, but can’t find them again to link up for you. These are the same brand and look similar.

  1. I love all these photos! You’re honeymoon looks perfect, when I went to Maui last year I absolutely fell in love with it 🙂 Congratulations on the TV gig as well, I’m sure you’ll do amazing. 😉

  2. I just got an amazon email my book should arrive on Monday!!! Woohoo! My daughter & I have been waiting since the first opportunity to preorder. Finally!!:)

  3. Love this idea – and such beautiful photos! The honeymoon destination looks an absolute dream 🙂

  4. OK, what were you eating on February 7th? Because it looks delicious, and despite the fact that I have just had my breakfast, I want to eat that NOW!

It looks to have been very cold this month. Whereas I’m sitting here looking at the daffodils bobbing around in my garden. I can’t deny that you have very pretty winters, though.

Excellent news about the TV appearance. Hopefully somebody will YouTube it so we can all share your debut!

    • Chicken Piccata! It was amazing. I’m jealous of your weather! It was below freezing more than above freezing this entire winter! I’m ready for spring, that’s for sure.

  5. What a great post idea – i love it!
Congrats on the baking demo – make sure you post it on YouTube so we can all watch it 🙂

  6. What an exciting month, Sally! It is always so lovely to read about you as a real person rather than just a baker. You must have be thrilled when you got the hardback copies of the book! Congratulations! x Mel

  7. I just got the cookbook today! As a matter of fact, I posted it on my instagram out of excitement! (if you wanna follow me, my username is maijun_is_a_rabbid_fangirl (weird name, I know, but what can you expect from a 13 year old Asian culture maniac with a major sweet tooth?))

By the way, I really want to try your lemon cupcakes!

  8. AHHHH!!! You’re staying at the Hyatt on Kauai??? That’s been our favorite place ever since we started going when I was 5 years old! We only spent one night there on a vacation or two, but we ALWAYS went to see the Hula Shows on Tuesday and Saturday evenings. They were hosted by this sweet lady named Leilani, and if my grandpa begged enough, she’d even dance to a song for us. (Although she’s getting older and can’t quite move as well as she used to…) But their smoothies are divine, and that lagoon pool — to die for! 🙂 Have a wonderful, amazing, magical time of your life!!

P.S. I’m sitting on pins & needles waiting for your cookbook to arrive on Tuesday!! That’s incredibly exciting about your baking demo too! I hope that you’re able to share a clip with those of non-locals. 🙂 Good luck and break a leg!

  9. Love it! I’ll have to order my cookbook ASAP :/ I can’t miss out on these kinds of things! (Actually, I’m going to order it right now 🙂 YAYYYAY so exciting!!!!

  10. I’ve not had an oven for two years now as we’re rebuilding our house. I’ve been just about surviving with a slow cooker, camping stove and microwave but the end is finally in sight and my kitchen should exist in the next month. In spite of not being able to bake anything in an oven I’ve been reading your blog for a while now and have even pre-ordered your cookbook! Fingers crossed the book and kitchen arrive soon, I can’t wait to make so much deliciousness!! Thank you for providing daily doses of inspiration so that I haven’t gone crazy!!

    • Thanks so much, Rosie! I’m so happy for the support you give, despite not having an oven right now. There are a few no-bake recipes in the cookbook that you will just love!

  11. I thought your snow puppy was a bunny. I appeared to have been scrolling too quickly. 😉

And congratulations on the TV thing! YAY! 🙂

  12. What a great month Sally!!! Congrats on the book (again!!!) and the TV appearance. You will be awesome and of course look great. Post a video for us when you have one please!!

  13. It looks like you had an amazing month, Sally. You know I’ll be tuning in to watch you on the news. How. Freakin’. Exciting! You are going to be great.

  18. I received my pre-ordered cookbook from Amazon yesterday and I must say that it is GORGEOUS ! The recipes and photography make me want to just start on page 1 and bake my way through the entire book. Everything looks sooo good and having tried many of your recipes from the blog, I’m sure they will all turn out DELICIOUS. Congratulations and thanks for all your hard work 🙂

    • Jean, you are so sweet. 🙂 Thank you so much for the kind words! I really hope you do bake through the whole book!

  19. I got your cookbook(s) last night!!!! (I am gifting one) So exciting!! I was thinking how excited I was to open it and how it amazing it must have felt for you when you got the hard copy as well! We are having company next weekend so I plan to make her something yummy for breakfast from your book! BTW I’m loving the chocolate chocolate chip muffins lately. 🙂 I can’t wait to try out the potato chip toffee chocolate chip cookies too! I had to go go out last night for my hair appt so I hope to sit down with it and look over it more tonight with a cup of my pregnancy tea! 🙂 I don’t think I get your local Baltimore channel…we get ther DC new. Bummer! Congrats!!!!

    • Thanks so much Lisa! I’m excited for you to sit down and read it. You should have seen me the day my advanced copy arrived last month. So many butterflies! Love those chocolate chip muffins. Please let me know what you bake first from my cookbook!

  20. Got my book last night shipped from AMAZON can’t wait to try out the recipes!!! woo hoo

  21. I just got my copy of your cookbook from Amazon! It’s been the best Sunday reading ever.
I’ve been following you (and testing waaaaaaay too many of your recipes, especially the peanut buttery ones) for several months, and I’m beyond excited for you. The photos in the book are gorgeous and it’s taking all of my self-control not to make/eat the marshmallow swirl s’mores fudge right now.
Congratulations on the book. It’s amazing.

  22. I couldn’t resist…I ordered your cookbook today. We have enjoyed several of your recipes over the past few weeks and I just have to have it! I’m not sure that it is the smartest decision I have ever made. My husband and I have lost a great deal of weight since last summer and have stayed at or below our goal weights for months now. But I figured we didn’t cut any food group out of our diets, including sweets, so…all in moderation, right?! I’m telling myself I’ll bake for my husband’s co-workers and we can sample everything in the process.

I can hardly wait for the cookbook to arrive. I’ve been baking for most of my life, I’m a wanna-be photographer and we have a sweet rescue pup so it’s a natural fit for me to find your blog…even though I found you by searching for a healthy non-sweet recipe (baked sweet potato fries–YUM).

    Thanks again, Sally!
