My Most Loved

You have no idea how hard this is for me. I’ve been thinking about this for over a month. (No life.) But here we go, in descending order:

Homemade Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tarts. I grew up eating these. And now that I can make them at home? Dangerously awesome. I had to buy a treadmill.

Gluten Free Apple Crisp. This recipe was the biggest surprise of 2014. I cannot believe how good it is.

Soft & Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. Because I’m officially the most boring person alive.

Q: What were some of your favorites this year? Not particularly on my website, but any favorites that you made? Tell me about them!

Here’s to a pretty sweet 2015. ;)

  1. Margaret Anne @ Natural Chow says:

Somehow I missed those Whole Wheat Oatmeal Pancakes! They look so delicious—I may have to give them a try tomorrow morning! It’s crazy but inevitable that the classics were some of the most popular. I hope you had a great Christmas Sally! 🙂

  2. Several of your recipes have been added to my Xmas traditions:

    1) Mint chocolate brownies (wicked good)
    2) Snickerdoodles (stuffed with Rolos!)
    3) Jam thumbprints
    4) Orange-glazed cranberry bread

AND YOUR CHICKEN PIE!!!!!! I know it’s not a cookie/sweet but it is SPECTACULAR!!!!! I use a whole rotisserie chicken, shredded + frozen peas/carrot blend and it makes prep a breeze. SO good. I made it today for my husband’s 99 year old grandma and she said it reminded her of pies she’d eaten as a girl – she only wanted to pie and no sides or bread so she would have enough room to finish it:)

    1. love that pot pie. and so does my husband. i’ve even done it with shredded turkey too. so good Anna, and so sweet about your husband’s grandma! And the other recipes you’ve tried.. love them all. especially those mint chocolate brownies!

  3. Sally, I just love your recipes!

I first discovered some of your recipes on Pinterest and now I am completely ADDICTED to your website – it’s practically my home page!

Every recipe I’ve tried has been nothing short of fantastic!
I’m definitely a chocoholic but your Soft & Chewy Oatmeal Raisin cookies have to become of my favourites.

The one treat I CRAVE – and will eat the ENTIRE pan to myself – are your Healthy Peanut Butter Chunk Oatmeal Bars! Oh. My. #1 Fav for sure!!

Congrats to you on all of your success! Wishing you all the best for 2015!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful gift!

    1. You’re the sweetest Liz. Thank you for leaving this sweet comment. I loooove those peanut butter chunk bars! I haven’t made them in awhile, I’ll have to make them again soon.

  4. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, yours is the best blog I have come across…your site’s recipes, variety, photography, layout, personality, approachability, and positivity set you apart from the others! Congratulations on your success, and I know you will continue to shine in 2015! 🙂

    1. thanks Caley, I love reading your comments each post!

  5. Alexis @ Upside Down Pear says:

I just want to say that you’ve become such an inspiration to me! I’ve been coming back to your blog since about 2012 and you really do make me want to get in the kitchen. I hope one day I’ll be half as successful as you and I wish you all the best in everything you do! You are such an amazing person and put so much time and energy into this blog and the recipes. I really enjoy coming to this space that you’ve created here! Happy New Year!!

    1. YOU’RE amazing. I love reading each and every one of your comments Alexis. xoxo

  6. Hi Sally, I have been a big fan of your blog for a while now but my husband bought me your cookbook for Christmas (earning him major brownie points!) and I have spent the last few days drooling over the pages! I’ve decided my New Years resolution is to make every one of the recipes in the book throughout 2015! I know we will be in for lots of treats!
    Have a wonderful New Years!
    Gillian ~ Scotland, UK

    1. What an awesome resolution! You have to check in and tell me some of your favorites as you bake through the year! Thanks Gillian. What a sweet comment!

  7. I made your Pumpkin chocolate chip bread a lot this Fall and it was a huge hit. I also made a lot of pies with your pie crust recipe. Pie was my new challenge of the year. I got a personalized ceramic pie container for my wedding and I vowed to make myself famous for pie 🙂

Love your recipes and hopefully I can meet you in 2015, either down here in South Florida or somewhere near you. Hope to see more meet and greets this year.

    Happy 2015!

    1. Thanks Laura– and congrats on making that pie!

  8. I actually found your blog , from looking for a new healthy pancake! The oatmeal ones i I made them again yesterday , the family here (in Mexico) thinks they are like a dessert , lol..since finding you in October , EVERRY SINGLE RECIPIE HAS BEEN AHMAZING!!! the last 6 holidays and birthdays have been Sally’s stuff.. I leave your blog permanently open in my iPad.. I am making your pizzas (again, the best dough ever) later today and searching for a new cake to make for New Year’s Eve…. The chocolate chip cookies and vanilla cupcakes are the BEST I have ever made! At your suggestion I purchased an oven thermometer (yea Xmas prezzie) which really helps , I am using a celsius oven now at a high altitude, near MEXICO CITY… BLESS YOU, and here’s to a great baking 2015!

And very vanilla cupcakes 36 , on the side… She’s a vanilla girl with sprinkles of course! Would love to post pics ? The last 3 birthdays have had Sally cakes.. Around here you are infamous , just one name, like Oprah! Oh also I baked your cranberry/ orange glazed bread AND banana choc chip, and cinnamon swirl bread for Xmas presents,, 15 loaves! 1. Thank you for the incredibly kind comments Shani! I am so happy to be apart of your kitchen. You’ve made a ton of my favorites including those very vanilla cupcakes. So happy you got that oven thermometer. Makes a world of a difference. Seriously, it’s my saving grace sometimes.

      1. 😀
I’ve decided on strawberry cupcake , made Into a layer cake, it’s pretty warm here so I found some fresh! Going to spell out 2015! Hope you have. A great New Years !

  10. Ok..I’m in love!! Also my husband is in love (and slightly heavier 😉 ) since discovering your blog. Thank you for all your fab recipes and witty humour. You are a pleasure to learn from.
    Thank you!!

  11. This year I took your chocolate peanut butter swirl cookies(3rd time I’ve made them), and stuffed a mini reeses in the middle as directed on your pbcup stuffed cookies… Yeah, that happened.

  12. Your cookies seems absolutely delicious. No, actually, EVERYTHING seem absolutely delicious! Haha, and the photos are awesome. Congratulation, we hope to reach this level one day!

    1. Happy new year Pierre– thanks for all these sweet comments!

  13. Lizzie Vasquez says:

I’ve made your Lemon Blueberry Layer Cake!! It is to DIE for! So glad it made it to “Most Loved Cake”. Well deserved 🙂

  14. My favorite thing I made was the salted caramel cheese cake dip from your cookbook!! Heavenly. We dipped apples, pretzels, and pita chips. My second favorite thing we made were the quiche patties. SO GOOD! We put them on a plate of spinach and drizzled on poppy seed dressing. It was great! My third favorite were all of the smoothies, but I am partial to the PB&J smoothie. I also loved the black bean hummus from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe. My mom and I love your cookbook!! Thanks for sharing your talents!!!

    1. I looooove that salted caramel dip Andreya. And that black bean hummus sounds tasty. I’ll have to check that recipe out! Thanks for the sweet comment.

  15. Amy @ Amy's Healthy Baking says:

Sally, as much as I adore all of the gorgeous recipes you post, I’m even more happy and proud for you for your non-food achievements this year. Moving (twice), getting married, being on TV (twice), publishing a cookbook (and I’m guessing there’s another project in the works after your new @sallyscandyaddiction IG account!), meeting readers all over the East Coast area, and staying sweet and positive throughout it all… You’re absolutely unstoppable and a huge role model!! I don’t know how 2015 can top this past year, but knowing you, it’ll happen! 🙂

  16. I have made a few things from your blog this year and must say I love your blog and the way you do recipes, not many people include the weight like you do. I love using my scale and I acutally can with a lot of your recipes! I really love the giant oatmeal cookie and the mint chocolate cheesecake brownies! Keep up the good work!

  17. Everything here sounds absolulty amazing. I bought your book and I LOVE IT!!!!
So far every single recipe of yours has been spot on perfect! Congratulations on your success. I am hoping you will publish more cookbooks mainly your year to year most popular. Thanks for such a wonderful blog.

    1. Thank you so much for buying my cookbook! I’m in the middle of writing a 2nd book– coming out this fall! Thanks Rebecca.

  18. My favorite in 2014 was your Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Loaf. So addictive! My hubby really liked your Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies – he ate a whole batch in under a day.
In other recipes, I’d say my favorite was my mom’s Rhubarb Pudding – a layered dessert containing a graham wafer crumb crust, cooked rhubarb with strawberries, vanilla pudding, marshmallows and cool whip. I’d love it if you had some rhubarb recipes 🙂
Love your recipes! I can’t stop raving about them to friends and family. Thank you for your awesomeness!
