Sally's Baking Addiction Cookbook Cupcake Recipe

One whole year since Sally’s Baking Addiction Cookbook’s release. One whole year since March 1st 2014, the very day that my cookbook was NUMBER 2 on the cookbook best selling list on Amazon. What!? Thank you so much.

Writing my first cookbook gave me the courage to quit my job and do this baking/writing thing full time. It helped me connect with many of you in real life (thank you for coming to my book signings!) and catapulted me into the “scary” radio and live TV world. Um, remember this? I was so nervous. I can’t even watch myself. Maybe I’ll learn how to calm down in about 75 years or at least until my next cookbook comes out. (Currently writing Sally’s Candy Addiction, which is cookbook #2!)

Here’s the first time I ever held my cookbook. This was January last year. And the proudest moment of my life as I knew it.

SBA Cookbook-2

I don’t know if you remember this next picture, but here is where I wrote Sally’s Baking Addiction cookbook. This kitchen was so tiny and crammed that I stored baking supplies in the living room, under our bed, and in the coat closet. Yes, it was weird. We now live in a house with a kitchen twice the size, which somehow still feels so small?

Anyway! What have you made from my cookbook so far?

    Hi Sally!
My sweet tooth isn’t as strong any more, but I love to bake. It has always been a stress release. I haven’t gotten to do it much in the past year or so because I’ve been dealing with health challenges affecting my muscles and nervous system. Now that I’m well enough to work, I was able to bake an old chocolate chip cookie recipe I found in a picture section of Hobby Lobby. It turned out to be an actual recipe and it’s been a hit ever since. I work in an office that treats Cancer patients ,so being able to brighten my Co workers and surgerons day means the world to me. My 3 dozen cookies were gone within the first hour or so of clinic. I I would love to have new recipes to bake for them.

hi Sally, my sweet tooth weakness is brownies, especially brownies recipe from you, chewy fudgy brownies and death by chocolate brownies. I’m really tamed. But I love other sweetness, like apple pie, cookies, cheese cakes, chocolate bars, cakes (without frosting of course, because I love originality).
Hopes your books will crack the world, many many sold! ^^hi Sally, my sweet tooth weakness is brownies, especially brownies recipe from you, chewy fudgy brownies and death by chocolate brownies. I love warm chocolate chip cookies!

  4. Sue Hubler on March 7, 2015 at 8:24 pm

Favorite? Really? Guess I will go with a category which is cookies. Never met one I didn’t like! So many possibilities & so much yummy goodness in a small bite. Just means one is never enough! Currently I am making my way through your cookie recipes on your website. During my most recent snow day round of cookie baking I made your peanut butter cookies. Oh my! Need I say more?

  5. Thresia on March 7, 2015 at 8:29 pm

Tres leches cake with tons of fruit on top, strawberries, pineapple, mango, kiwis and raspberries. I make it as often as possible!

  6. Annette on March 7, 2015 at 8:34 pm

My favorite dessert is Creme Brulee and it has been my favorite since I was a child.

  7. Hillary on March 7, 2015 at 8:39 pm

I love, love, love peanut butter oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips. They are the best when frozen. I’m drooling right now!

  8. Candie L on March 7, 2015 at 8:50 pm

I love chocolate chip cookies straight from the oven. Thank you

  9. amanda on March 7, 2015 at 8:55 pm

I love your Facebook shares. they make me want to bake all the time! I enjoying trying new recipes and look forward to making more. My family has a strong sweet tooth. My favorite is pineapple upside down cake. My children love cookies, any kind! Congratulations on the next book. Blessings

  10. Chris Cook on March 7, 2015 at 8:55 pm

Come on Sally, you know all about the addiction, which means there will never be one favourite, it’s all or nothing lol 😉

  11. Kristin on March 7, 2015 at 9:06 pm

So hard to choose a favorite! Even though I’m a serious chocolate lover, I think I’d have to go with the “elephant ears” my parents would pick up from a bakery on summer vacations. They were really light flaky dough with cinnamon and sugar…haven’t been able to find any exactly like it ever since.

  12. Laurie Emerson on March 7, 2015 at 9:09 pm

My favorite dessert of all time was some Doberg Cake I had at a little out of the way restaurant in New Orleans. It was 11 layers of pudding and cake and had a mouth watering buttercream topping.

  13. ikkinlala on March 7, 2015 at 9:14 pm

My favourite dessert is huckleberry pie, which I’ve made many times. The special part is the berries.

  14. Charlie on March 7, 2015 at 9:15 pm

I LOVE anything chocolate. The more chocolate the better. And ESPECIALLY if it’s warm, melty chocolate. I really love all desserts (especially yours!) so it’s near impossible to choose but because of my chocolate addiction I’d say a chocolate lava cake or something to that extent!

  15. Louise on March 7, 2015 at 10:05 pm

Cheesecake. Any cheesecake. Baked or set in the fridge. Being Scottish I have a recipe for a Cranachan cheesecake which has an oatcake and honey base and the filling is vanilla with raspberries through it and it’s baked. However my all time favourite is lime and ginger cheesecake. Ginger biscuits for the base and a zesty lime filling – it’s so easy to make as it sets in the fridge. Delicious is an understatement.

  16. Olivia Leung on March 7, 2015 at 10:10 pm

I love your soft chocolate chip cookies!! It’s so addictive and my daughter loves helping to make (eat) them too!

  17. Jessica on March 7, 2015 at 10:16 pm

Yellow cake with chocolate frosting! And sprinkles!

  18. TracyB on March 7, 2015 at 10:26 pm

My favorite dessert of all time was a silly little store bought birthday cake that was a surprise from an old boyfriend. Good times and good memories….

Thanks so much for the giveaway, Sally! Fingers crossed that I win!

  19. Mary A. on March 7, 2015 at 10:41 pm

Oh, I’d have to say my favorite dessert of all-time would have to be any birthday cake my mom made for me! Especially the ‘doll cakes’ of the 60’s, beautiful cake skirt – I just felt so special!

  20. Catherine Leong on March 7, 2015 at 11:12 pm

I love creme brulee, tiramisu and sticky date toffee pudding. These are my absolute favourites and it’s always a hard choice to make if a restaurant has all 3 on their menu.
By the way, I’ve just stumbled onto your website and I love your recipes. I’m going to try the snickerdoodles recipe for my girls night out. I’m sure they will absolutely love it. I can’t wait to try it.
Thanks for sharing your lovely recipes with us.

  21. Trisha McKee on March 7, 2015 at 11:20 pm

My favorite dessert of all time was my grandmother’s apple crisp.

  22. Tara Braun on March 7, 2015 at 11:27 pm

    Homemade cherry pie

  23. Lora Sullivan on March 7, 2015 at 11:27 pm

    Hi Sally!

Don’t tell anyone, but my favorite dessert is a chocolate cupcake with frosting inside, like a Hostess cake! Yes, they are not very healthy, but I can’t help it! I need to find a recipe to make a healthier version from scratch at home. Any ideas? But I love to bake at home. It is a stress reliever for me.

  24. Allison Skibbs Welch on March 7, 2015 at 11:27 pm

Hi Sally, my all-time favorite dessert is a dense, moist, dark chocolate cake my mom has made for my birthday for at least the past 30 years. It’s called Siren’s Chocolate cake and I believe the buttermilk helps create this delicious dessert that stays moist and fresh for several days!!! Thank you for you website and recipes. My daughters and I over everything we have tried so far.

  25. Bethany on March 7, 2015 at 11:29 pm

Ever since I stumbled upon your baking site I have become 110% addicted! Back in November I made your salted caramel apple pie and I have been completely converted ever since! I have never been a fan of the ‘traditional’ apple pie because there always seemed something was lacking. But your recipe has such a perfect blend of spices and most of all the cloves are an incredible addition!!!! Thank you so much for sharing all your wonderful recipes (my husband, daughter, extended family and work family also thank you) lol.

  26. Bethany on March 7, 2015 at 11:39 pm

(This may have been posted more than once my computer spazzed out)Ever since I stumbled upon your baking blog last year I have become 110% addicted! I am forever more a converted pie lover and its all thanks to your salted caramel apple pie I decided to make for Thanksgiving a few months ago. In all honesty, before now I was never a fan because there always seemed to be something missing. Than, I found your recipe and the perfect blend of spices did me in but mostly because of the cloves and this flavor transformed it! Thank you so much for sharing your recipes with us all (and also my husband, extended family and work family who’ve all been my taste testers lol)!

  27. Arin on March 7, 2015 at 11:52 pm

I love chocolate chip cookie without chocolate chips.

  28. Leslie on March 7, 2015 at 11:55 pm

Blueberry pie. It brings me back to my childhood where time was spent at my grandmothers house at Lake Wallenpaupack. The whole family would gather around her long kitchen table on Sundays for a big family meal followed by pie. I still dream of her pies.

  29. Linda Bradshaw on March 7, 2015 at 11:55 pm

My favorite is original cheesecake. I love it for special occasions. My mom makes me it for all my occasions.

  30. Shawna Fay on March 8, 2015 at 12:02 am

I absolutely love your monster cookie recipe. The peanut butter in them keeps them moist and chewy for days
