Hi! Another Saturday to spend together gushing over recipes.

What are you doing this weekend? It’s my friend’s 30th so I’m in Ohio celebrating. (I’ll be back in November, Cleveland readers!) Had a little surprise party last night and her reaction of sheer shock was hilarious. Happy birthday Ree!

So we’re creeping into a new season. And with the cooler weather approaching, I recently made and re-shot my pumpkin oatmeal bars. Have you ever made these? The recipe feels ancient since I shared it back in 2012.

I went to dinner the other night with Lynn and we (naturally) were talking about puppy chow recipes which got me thinking about peanut butter puppy chow.

And this stuff has butterscotch too so you should just buy larger pants now.

  2. Butterscotch is my favorite non-fruit flavor, so I LOVE that puppy chow! The blackberry muffins are awesome too…I bake really infrequently in summer, because after being in my fortress of an office all day, I cannot bear to be inside any longer…but I’m looking forward to doing more as it gets cold! It turns out I do think I will be in town for your signing! 😀

  3. I’ve made the double chocolate zucchini bread and it was incredible. Tastes like dessert – but hey, it’s a vegetable! Next up will definitely be something with pumpkin in it. Maybe these awesome looking bars….

    I’ve been dying to put some soft pretzels together. And also stuffed jalapeño peppers! Ever since I stuffed baby bells over the summer, I’ve been wanting to stuff all kinds of peppers with all the cheese in the world (do you know where I can find some? Oh wait… 😉 ) Hope you’re having lots of fun in Ohio!   6. I LOVE your Biscotti recipes.
    I remember thinking this is too difficult but still wanting to try.
    I made the almond biscotti on Saturday afternoon and they were ALL gone by dinner!
    Very next day I tried your Mocha biscotti… Wow.. Never knew they could be made at home!!

    PS: In your list, I have tried the Chocolate Zucchini bread as well. My husband and son loved it!

  9. You always read my mind with these Saturday Sevens. I just made some tea and I was wishing I had some biscotti. I’ve made your mocha chip biscotti once before and they were so great. They really come out looking like they do in the picture. Perfect amount of flavor, too.

  11. I’ve made the pumpkin oatmeal bars (perfect fall on-the-go breakfast), the chocolate zucchini bread (I made them into muffins), and the blackberry apple muffins (made them for a picnic with friends and everyone loved them!)
    I’m excited for your cookbook to come out. Sad to see Nashville isn’t on your book tour, but it certainly looks like you will be well traveled after your tour 🙂

  12. Well it was a crappy weekend in Ohio.  My boys had a cross country meet yesterday. Nasty drizzly cold wet weather. Yuck. I think I’ve burned the family out on chocolate zucchini bread.  Made some last week and still have a whole loaf left. Those pretzles are calling to me though. They would make good snacks for lunch boxes. Have a good week.

  14. I have tried your Double Chocolate Zucchini Bread. Super yummy! The kids and I loved it! I had mine with a nice hot cup of coffee and the kids had theirs with a cold glass of milk. Soooo good and satisfying with rich chocolate flavor and moist texture. . . it just melts in your mouth!

  15. I’ll have to try those jalapeno bites! I don’t like spicy stuff, but all the friends with whom I watch football do!
