First up– I have my first local cooking class this week at the Wayne Art Center. We’ll be cooking toffee and making fudge recipes from Sally’s Candy Addiction. I’ll definitely post pictures. And I’ll definitely embarrass myself. The event has sold out, but we’re adding another one in February so check their schedule so you can buy a ticket (which includes a book!).

October 3rd, 4th, and 6th– I’ll be signing books at events in Philadelphia. Would love to meet you if you’re local! Then I’m off to Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis, and Denver. Soon after that: Trenton, DC, Portsmouth, Boston, and NYC. Then I’ll be in Baltimore, St. Louis, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland. Then I’ll sleep for 10 straight days before visiting all of you in Texas! And it all starts over again in February with I see you all in San Francisco and San Diego.

My cookbook will be sold at all of these locations. You can bring your own copy or you can buy it there. I’ll be doing candy making demos at some of these locations. Most of them are free, but some are ticketed. And if so, I noted that on my book tour page.

I’ll be sharing photos and recaps on my blog, instagram, and snapchat (sallysbakeblog) so you can follow along on this crazy adventure. I’ll also be sharing photos from the tour on my photography blog. If you have your copy of Sally’s Candy Addiction, make sure you snap a photo of it and upload it to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #sallyscandyaddiction. And if you make any of the recipes, please tell me about it on any of my social medias. That’s the BEST part of writing a cookbook! Hearing that you are making my food.

    Don’t worry, Sally, I’m sure you’ll do great on the cooking class. It’s like riding a bike – when you get on it, it’s just about the instinct. The same is with cooking – when you see the ingredients before you, you’ll forget everything else and you’ll start speaking from your heart.

    Wow – woman on the MOVE! So cool! Saturday was a really fun day for me – I got your bookplate in the mail (woo! Thanks so much!) AND got shipping notice that I will have your new cookbook tomorrow! (woo times two!) And….I made my billionth batch of your Chewy Chocolate Chip cookies for some gals in Santa Fe…and made mini loaves of your banana bread (I used the Butterscotch Banana Bread from your book but used chopped up Hershey bar and semi-sweet chocolate chips instead of nuts) My house smelled like a bakery yesterday. 🙂 Congratulations to you!!!

    I ordered your book (e-book version for my tablet) from Amazon this past weekend and it was delivered to me immediately. Unfortunately I couldn’t spend a lot of time with it this past weekend. But I hope to go through it very soon and write a review for you on Amazon. It looks great (as usual) and I can’t wait to start my candy experimentations.     Hi Sally!  I was SO excited when they delivered your new cookbook to me on Sunday afternoon!  Spent a good portion of the day enjoying both the recipes and photos – feels like I am a cookbook junkie – and your second cookbook is an absolute treasure!  Already tagging the recipes we’re going to try – and all six of my children have tagged the ones that they want me to make as well.  This could be good bribery material!  Thanks again – the wait was well worth it!

    A. I got my cookbook in the mail yesterday–SUNDAY! (Yay for my upgrade to Amazon Prime just in time for my pre-order to make it to me in record time!) After doing our happy dance, my girls and I ran over to the couch to flip through it and see what we want to make. Can’t wait to get started! It’s beautiful. Congrats and thanks again for all your hard work!!!

    B. Yes! I made the cider yesterday with all our fresh-picked orchard apples. It tastes like fall in a mug! Yay for fall. Yay for cookbooks. Yay for Sally’s Baking Addiction!!!

    I remarked to my mom on Friday night that somewhere in the course of the past five years, I’ve become the kind of person who gets legitimately excited for the release of cookbooks. I couldn’t be happier about that!

    Woo hoo, I received your book today. I could not wait to flip through it. The pictures are so yummy. Can’t wait to try out these recipes. Amazing job Sally.     Many, many congratulations Sally on what is sure to be another hugely successful book!!  I spent sooo many hours yesterday pouring over each and every recipe, front to back, making sure to read all the helpful hints!  My hubby has even put post its on the ones he wants me to try out first. I checked the pantry today and there are only a couple of ingredients I need to fill in to get started. Hands down the peanut butter cups are first, no contest!!  Then I don’t know if I’m game to jump right to those salted caramels topped with chocolate, or if I want to start with something less challenging?  There are spiced nuts and bark calling my name too!!  Thank you as always for your enthusiasm, inspiration, your thoughtful directions, and how your love of all things baking/candy making just shine through in such a sincere way for all your fans!  I can’t wait to meet you and get my book signed!!  Blessings.

      Well, this just makes the day even better Chelle! Thank you for such a thoughtful comment- just read it twice with a huge smile on my face. PB cups are a great place to start. For the caramels– make sure you read the chapter intro as well as all my candy making tips in the beginning of the book. This will greatly help you get started with a more detailed recipe. I’ve heard from readers (who are not candy makers in the slightest– no experience whatsoever) and they’ve had easy success with those caramels. You can handle it!

    I got my copy of Candy Addiction today and it is gorgeous! I can’t wait to try the brittles and the fudges. It’s a shame Canadian bookstores weren’t very responsive, though. I would have loved to see you in Toronto!
