Let’s celebrate PIE! Here are some of my favorite Thanksgiving pie recipes including all the pumpkin, apple, sweet potato, chocolate, pear, peanut butter, and cranberry one could ask for. I broke it down into helpful categories so you can narrow down your selection. If you need a hand with the crust, here is my entire pie crust tutorial. I also have an all butter pie crust recipe, too.

  1. My favorite pie is the Pennsylvania Dutch Funny Upside Down Pie. The bottom layer is a white cakey layer. The top layer is a liquidy chocolate layer that you pour over the white cake layer. During baking the chocolate layer sinks down through the white cake layer but magically, the white cake layer remains white and the chocolate layer becomes a rich fudgy layer at the bottom. The top looks like a lacy topping. It slices beautifully and is deceptive because it appears to be a “cakey” pie, but really it is rich and yummy.

  2. My absolutely favorite pie is the one my mother in law makes. It’s basically banoffee but everything is homemade. She taught me how to make it but I still can’t master it. It’s a piece of heaven in the form of pie.

  3. One of the most complimented pies I have made of yours is your pumpkin pie. That secret ingredient just peps up the other spices and is delicious. And I love all your recipes. My ‘go to’ place for any dessert is Sally’s Baking Addiction…..guess I am addicted to your site!

  4. If I have to choose just one, it has got to be a chocolate silk pie. But I will admit, there are a few runners-up whose feelings I am afraid I just hurt. Hopefully they won’t retaliate by being epic fails the next time I make them.

  5. My favorite pie is French Apple pie with a shortbread crust, topped with Vanilla ice cream and drizzle of salted caramel. Though I am going to try your Nutella with the Hazelnut crust soon.

  6. I’m a stickler for tradition so I have to go with the Great Pumpkin Pie! Most amazing pie ever. And when I saw pepper in the recipe I was not shocked. I actually had a stepmother as a kid who used to add just a touch of pepper to nutmeg and sprinkle on top of pumpkin pie! Hands down easiest crust to make also and I am terrible with crust!! Thanks for having this recipe for the last couple years!!

  7. I’d have to say my favorite pie is cherry pie. Funny enough, I actually prefer it the day after it’s baked, cold, straight out of the fridge, for breakfast with a cup of coffee.

  8. WOW! That is a hard one. 🙂 It would have to be pecan pie with a caramel drizzle and vanilla ice cream. Oh, don’t forget the whipped cream!

  9. My favorite is my Grandma’s famous Apple Pie! This Thanksgiving I really hope to try your Sweet Potato Pie recipe. 🙂
