Sally & Kevin Wedding Sept 20 2014

A year ago today I married Kevin and started the adventure of a lifetime. I never imagined sharing a life so full of contentment with another person. We’re a team. Two lives comforting, respecting, loving, praying, supporting, sharing, encouraging, walking, talking, balancing, confiding, calming, praising, and interweaving.

Sally & Kevin Wedding Sept 20 2014

I was looking back at our wedding photos this past week. Remembering that sunny, 75-degree day in September. For the first time I noticed that there was a misspell on our dinner menu cards. (“Bindled” instead of “bundled” green beans.) At first surprised to find an error, I quickly realized how insignificant the little things are when you are about to embark on the greatest chapter of your life. I didn’t notice this when reviewing the menu cards before printing, I didn’t notice it on our wedding day, and I didn’t notice it when I first viewed our wedding photos.

Just goes to show that all the small pieces (flowers! menus! make-up! gifts! place settings! songs! name cards! hair! cake cutter!) that make up your wedding day hold NOTHING compared to the big piece: marriage.

and happiness always! Thank you for sharing these lovely photos!

  2. Happy Anniversary! I hope you and Kevin have many years of happiness and have so much fun creating all of your wonderful memories together!  I first found your blog through another one when they were throwing you a virtual bridal shower. I clicked over to your blog to see what you were all about, started reading through it & have been back just about everyday (& have made a lot of your goodies)!  I have enjoyed reading about your journey together. Have a fun day…

    1. Besides the menu misspell, there were a couple other things that didn’t go as planned but none of it really mattered in the moment. Thanks so much for the congrats!

  7. 25 years ago on September 20th I married Keith and we have just celebrated our Silver Wedding Anniversary – I send you best wishes and hope you and Kevin will be as happy as we have.    Thank you for your amazing website..xx

  8. I think Bindled green beans are going to become a thing now 🙂 Your menu looked amazing. How fun to look back at that wonderful day! Congrats.

  9. Congratulations on your one year anniversary!! I’m so happy for the both of you!!

I absolutely LOVE the wedding details, including a variety of sugary sweets (I have the worst sweet tooth EVER!!).My best friend got married five months ago, and I was her Maid of Honor. I haven’t been anyone’s Maid of Honor, but it was a pleasure to share the life changing moment with her.

Here’s to many more anniversaries. 🙂

  10. Happy (late) anniversary!!
i know you mentioned prayer in your post…so i was wondering…by chance are you a christian? (i promise, not to judge, whatever the answer is!!)

  11. Happy one year anniversary!  You look beautiful in your gorgeous dress.  I love that you went with a brightly-colored bouquet; I carried a purple tulip one over 8 years ago and they are still my favorite flower!

  12. Hi Sally! Thank you so much for sharing these happy memories with us. You and Kevin are the perfect couple, and I can tell how much you both love each other. I hope you have a long, happy marriage full of laughs, hugs, and love. (And peanut butter wouldn’t hurt either!)

  13. Thanks so much for this post, Sally. I’m getting married in 8 months and am in the throes of planning, so this was a good reminder that one day is nothing compared to the lifetime that comes afterwards. Happy (late) anniversary!

  14. My son was born September 20, 2014! The world is a full amazing place and every day people everywhere are having the biggest most important day of their lives. I stumbled on your web site while looking for amazing recipes for vanilla bean, strawberry and chocolate cupcakes. They were a huge hit at his birthday party last weekend. I find myself drawn back to your site digging thru other treasures and I found your carrot cake recipe, which will be stellar for my husband’s birthday November 10th! Thank you for your attention to detail, such as measuring out flour and considerable photographs, which had consistently been my own pet peeve when trying recipes. I looked up your tour dates and was a little shocked to see no cities in the south. I’m in Nashville, TN and I know I could scare up some ladies to talk about our love of baking and dogs. Maybe next time.

    1. Hi Sandi! Thank you for the sweet comment and I love that you are finding some great recipes in my blog’s archives. There are PLENTY to keep you busy in the kitchen! Happy belated to your son. I would love to visit Nashville someday soon. I’ve never been there!

  15. I can’t believe it’s been a year already!  Happy late anniversary! I got married in April and time is flying really quick. Wishing you all the happiness in the world x
