Let’s Review the June Baking Challenge
June 2019 Sally’s Baking Challenge Recipe: Angel Food Cake
Talk about a slice of heaven! Every month I tell you that I’m blown away at the participation in the baking challenges, but June’s participation REALLY warmed my heart. I expected the participation to be on the lower side since it’s a more challenging recipe, but you totally proved me wrong. You’re all pushing yourselves and trying something totally new and unique whether it’s challenging, moderate, or easy. Thank you for making these challenges so fun and successful. They would be nothing without you!
One of my favorite recipe reviews came from reader Kaitlin:
“I am a new baker, so this recipe was a challenge for me. However, the video helped a ton, and I was able to come up with a finished product that I was proud of. It tastes amazing, and it was something I had never thought of making, so it helped bring me out of my comfort zone, which I loved. Thanks Sally!”
We gathered as many angel food cake photo entries as we could and included them below.
June Baking Challenge Winner
Challenge winner for June is Christine who has already been notified.
This was my first baking challenge and I loved it. I followed the no bake cheesecake as the recipe stated however I mixed it up using ginger snaps as my crust & garnished mine with a mix of cinnamon peach & apple! Like a peach cobbler cheesecake! Loved it!
I’m so happy you completed your first baking challenge! YAY! Your flavors and toppings sound incredible, Kia- thanks for participating!
These were a snap to make!
Very easy and delicious. I made your chocolate ganache and whipped it. I also made some homemade whipped cream (also your recipe) and everything turned out perfect!
I’m thrilled you enjoyed this recipe, Maria! Your toppings sound incredible 🙂
I just finished the monthly challenge cheesecake jars, making the chocolate ganache and strawberry sauce; cheesecake batter came together perfectly and what I tasted on the spoon was delicious! Can’t wait to try them tonight on the deck!
Sally,
July was my first baking challenge. I LOVED the concept of putting the no bake cheesecakes in canning jars. I had so much fun picking out the jars and making the cheese cakes. What a pretty display for such a great summer dessert. I tried the strawberry compote & can’t wait to try other toppings. This was a hit with my family.
So happy to read this, Melissa! Thank you so much for participating this month. This was definitely a FUN recipe for the summertime!

Looking forward to this cheesecake in a jar challenge. I’m thinking a July 4th dessert coming up!! Going to group gathering, this will for sure be the dessert I’ll be bringing. Can’t wait!
SWEET! So excited to try this challenge and perfect when I am trying no to use the oven during another hot spell. As always, thank you Sally!
Wow Sally! 30 challenges is quite the record! You put so much effort into doing what you love and sharing it on your amazing blog 🙂 Every time I need a recipe, whether it be the most extravagant layered cake or a simple chocolate chip cookie, I turn to Sally’s baking addiction! Thank you again for all your hard work Sally! And by the way, those cheesecakes look superb!
I entered in this challenge and I really hope I win. That would be amazing! It’s my first ever entry in one of your baking challenges. If I do win, I will be stocking up on all those baking pans, ingredients, and utensils that I really need 🙂 Then maybe I can enter more challenges. I wish to own a bakery when I’m older, and you and your blog inspired me. Thank you so much Sally!
And also, wow! Thirty baking challenges! Give yourself a pat on the back, Sally! You put so much effort and love into this monthly tradition, and it really pays of!:)
