Let’s Review the February Baking Challenge
February 2020 Sally’s Baking Challenge Recipe: Chocolate Soufflé
All of your chocolate soufflés were incredible. I was so happy to see well over 1,000 bakers try their hand at this classic French dessert, many of you baking them for the 1st time ever. The general feedback was that making chocolate soufflé is much more manageable than you ever realized, which is really what these baking challenges are all about!
One of our favorite recipe reviews came from reader Jessica:
“This recipe is fantastic!! I was nervous to try something like this, but the recipe made each step really clear and I was able to successfully make a dessert I never thought I could. The video also helped a lot; I watched it several times to make sure I understood the techniques involved. I used 7 ounce ramekins because that’s what I have, and they turned out great. I will definitely make these again!”
We gathered as many chocolate soufflé emailed photo entries as we could and included them below.

Can I make your shell recipe and fill it with whatever I want?
Definitely!
We made these today as something to do for spring break and they turned out great! My 7th grade nephew is really in to baking and we had a blast! First time doing the challenge and we are so glad we did! Thank you!
Your easy to follow directions not only gave me confidence to try macarons, but they came out perfectly. Thank you so much!
Thank you all for the lovely comments about my soufflés. I was so honored to have won. I’m still in shock!!! Thank you so much Sally ❤️ I love how we’re able to attempt so many new things. Looking forward to all of the future challenges. Happy baking everyone ❤️
The best and most delicious recipe! Are we surprised?! Sally does it again!
Goodness! I made macarons twice in Feb! Guess I’ll just have to make more.
Hi,
The link for the march challenge recipe just keeps going to the March Challenge announcement page and not the recipe page.

So excited to make these. These challenges are so fun. I love to bake but the challenges really help to grow and try many new things.
What wonderful pictures. Congrats to all.
Congratulations, Jennifer!!! Your soufflés look awesome!!!
I can’t believe we get to do macarons!!! I’m so excited!! I just tried to make some on Valentine’s Day for the first time and it was a disaster. Afterwards, I realized the recipe I was doing didn’t even have any flavoring in it.lol Really?????? It didn’t even occur to me when I was making them. I was just so nervous to even be attempting them at all.lol I can’t wait to see the recipe!!!
I am so excited to try these again. I tried them a few years ago with a Canadian student living with us. They were ok, but not great. Hopefully this time they will be better. Also, I participate in our local Farmer’s Markey, so if they turn out, I think they will be a big hit.
Congratulations! This was a fun challenge. Yours look amazing!
I’m so excited about this challenge, I have always wanted to try macarons! And yes I do remember the first challenge of lava cakes! I can’t believe this is number fifty and I have done every single one!
Thank you Sally for challenging us! As someone who is my own worst critic, I had to be happy with my creation so it took me four tries to get it right! My family wasn’t complaining, though. They all agreed my 4th time was the best yet!
When I purchased the ramekins, I also purchased a macaron kit! How fortuitous was that? So excited to try this.
My French students love macarons! I am up for the March challenge!!
They all look amazing! I’ve just received a macaron silpat mat for my birthday so I was planning on making them! 🙂
