Sprinkled Episode 2: Brownies

Thank you so much for the excitement about my new video mini series Sprinkled!

My homemade brownies recipe is one of the most popular recipes on my website. Made with real chocolate, these brownies are completely from-scratch, insanely chewy, and undeniably fudgy. The blend of real chocolate and cocoa powder, plus the minimal amount of flour, lends to their fudgy taste. These brownies are so rich, it tastes like you’re eating a square of fudge. From sprinkles and chocolate chips to walnuts and chocolate frosting, there are many ways to dress them up. I knew you’d enjoy seeing them come together on camera!

What is Sprinkled?

Earlier this year, a video production crew filmed me at work in my kitchen. Most of the time was spent filming step-by-step recipe tutorials, but they also filmed me working, writing, photographing, and recipe testing. The series is called Sprinkled. 🙂 For the recipe tutorials, I selected my favorite blog recipes ranging from cookies and cake to brownies and pie.

  1. I’m really loving these videos! Like seriously, are a natural at being in front of the camera! I love how you’ve mentioned some things from the videos earlier in your blog posts, like loving sprinkles and photography, but you really go into depth about talking about them which I think is so nice. I hope you come out with more after this batch of episodes! Also, I didn’t know it took you that long to create a blog post, wow! You’re seriously a superwoman!

  2. The best! Love all the tips and tricks and baking goodness included throughout these Sprinkled vids!!! Such fun tutorials! Xoxo

  3. Absolutely love your video!

  7. Wow! You do a great job on video! You should be on Food Network!!!!

  8. Sally, I made (and frosted) your brownies last Saturday. Yum!! So chewy & chocolatey! My husband has eaten half of the pan in 2 sittings! (I’ve had one.) These will be a keeper. Thank you!!

  9. Really enjoyed this! Going to make those brownies today! You are so talented Sally!!

  10. I sooo love these little videos! So professionally done-they are perfection!

  11. So excited to make these! Love the show – straight forward and easy to follow

  12. Amazing video yet again! I *almost* feel like I got to eat the brownies–the video is such a sensory experience! So well done. Gotta go–the latest batch of your fabulous crispy-edge chocolate chip cookies is already almost gone, so I gotta replenish! (My kids are real chocolate-chip cookie connoisseurs, and your crispy-edge recipe is The. All. Time. Winner.) Much gratitude for your work!

  13. I LOVE every recipe I’ve ever made of yours. I know it’s going to be delicious. A couple weeks ago I made the overnight cinnamon rolls but never got to take a picture before they disappeared! I’m going to be making them again this weekend so hopefully I can post a picture on Instagram. They were delicious! My husband said they were so big we should eat them with a fork and knife! My next thing I’ve been dying to try is croissants but I’m so intimidated.
I love the videos! So fun to watch! Makes me
    Want to go bake!!

  14. Loved this video and look forward to more to come! You are such a inspiration to me!

    Keep up the greatness!

  18. Tina Romano Shiver says:

Just wanted to say I’m really enjoying your “Sprinkles” episodes. It’s nice to see have your personality come through in the way your bake. I lost my sprinkle collection in the flood so I’m a bit envious lol Keep up the great work. I really think you’re going to have your own show one day. Thank you for the time & testing you put into your recipes. We appreciate you so much

  19. I agree you need your own show on Food Network! Love the videos and the sprinkle drawer. Great trick with the parchment paper. Every one of your recipes that I’ve made comes out great! Thanks Sally! My family thanks you too:)

  20. If I didn’t just take your cherry pie out of the oven I would be making the brownies 🙂 Can’t wait for the next video!

  21. Oh my gosh, Sally, I’m obsessed with these episodes. You really need your own show!

  23. M.A. Franklin says:

Great Job Sally I love your Brownie Recipe too just like your hubby! I just have have to ask you why don’t you break your eggs in a separate bowl? It’s one of the first things my mom taught me about baking and has saved me many pounds of butter over the years. Don’t you ever get shells in your recipes? As I’m watching you crack those eggs I cringed while I’m thinking where’s your little bowl? Then it hits me you ARE the Sprinkle Queen!! Keep Rockin Those Sprinkles Sally !!!’

  24. This is incredible! I’ve been following your blog for years, perhaps since 2012, and I’m always amazed by the way you are just constantly creating and inspiring all of us. Thank you!! These videos are a stunning achievement – you are today’s Julia Child!

  25. Girl, is it possible you’ve gotten cuter?! I’m loving these videos!

  26. You’re amazing, Sally! Congratulations on your new Sprinkled series!! It is great. 🙂

  27. Jennifer Chadwick says:

I just watched your clips on Amazon Prime today and decided to make the chewy brownie recipe. I love brownies and this is by far the most amazing homemade recipe I’ve ever come across.

  28. These brownies are amazing. Honestly, every recipe I have made from your site has been sooooo good! You have helped me become a better baker. PS loving your videos…this is my first time bothering to post on a blog…but Sally- you are awesome and I had to give you a much deserved shout out!

    1. Thank you so much for taking the time to post and for your positive feedback, Julie! I’m thrilled you enjoy the brownies 🙂
