Let’s Review the November Baking Challenge
November 2018 Sally’s Baking Challenge Recipe: Savory Vegetable Cheese Tart
So in love with this savory tart! One of the only savory baking challenges we’ve done, this savory veggie and cheese tart hits the spot as the weather cools down or if you’re in the mood for something different! Paired with a homemade buttery pie crust and herbed ricotta parmesan filling, the variety of veggies was in your hands. I love it with thinly sliced sweet potatoes and onions, but you adorned your savory tarts with vegetables galore! Some variations I loved seeing: sun-dried tomatoes and spinach, zucchini, roasted mushroom and caramelized onion, zucchini and bell peppers, and broccoli and cheddar cheese.
One of my favorite recipe reviews came from reader J.:
“Added chopped, raw broccoli and gourmet cheddar and it is absolutely delicious! Thank you for this amazing, flexible recipe.”
We gathered as many savory vegetable cheese tart photo entries as we could and included them below.

Ahhh!!! I am so excited!! I have never made a gingerbread house in my life. So this will be so fun!❤️❤️
My 5 year old was just asking if we could make a gingerbread house! What a great coincidence. Cannot wait to get started! (I’ve never made one before.)
I have been waiting for you to come out with a gingerbread house recipe. Just in time, as my kids and I are going to make them this week!
Perfect perfect perfect!!!!!! Gingerbread is my favourite part of Christmas, but I’ve always been too scared to try an actual gingerbread house…but I will try this one!! Thank you Sally!!!
I have never made one. This will be fun to do with the grand girls!
December is jam-packed. Between my own birthday, my father’s birthday, the birthdays of two nephews, a cousin, and Christmas and Chanukah baking, I might be a little busy. But this challenge is something that greatly piques my interest! Hopefully I can get on board! Thanks for posting it!
This is so perfect! Just had our first annual cookie dough making yesterday. My daughter made gingerbread cookie dough, that she plans to make a gingerbread house with. I’ll have to compare the recipe and see if it is similar to hold up to building with. I’ll share your blog with her so we can both enter the challenge.
Yay! I’m so excited. I’ve been thinking of buying one to decorate on my own this year aside from the one’s we do with the kids. Now I can make one on my own for the first time!
Cannot wait to try this!!
So timely! I have always done gingerbread houses from kits, but this year my cousin and I have set a date to bake and build homemade houses! I’m super excited about this post!
Sally, I’ve watched as everyone attempted your challenges this year…but this is one I absolutely need to participate in…something I have wanted to challenge myself to do! Thank you for bringing us this challenge and showing us it is a doable project. I absolutely love your recipes and use them ALL the time in my daily baking.
Yay!! I’ve always wanted to make one they just look so pretty. I’m hoping I can find some time and bake, decorate and eat! So excited to read your recipe!
I love to bake, but have never baked/decorated a gingerbread house. My grown daughter and I have a tradition of baking and decorating gingerbread men and holiday cookies each year, which is so much fun. I think we shall give this challenge a try! 🙂
I have always bought the prebaked boxes houses. Finally at 64 yrs old, will be attempting my 1st one EVER!! Can’t wait for granddaughters to come help decorate it!! Thank you so much for this challenge!!
OMG! It sounds SO fun and festive! I haven’t made them for so long!
