January 2018 Sally’s Baking Challenge Recipe: Homemade Bread Bowls

This month you will conquer your fear of yeast! My bread bowl recipe doubles as a basic dinner roll, pizza crust, and crusty bread recipe to always have on hand. It’s straightforward, versatile, requires little ingredients, and is completely manageable for yeast beginners.

Everyone who participates in the January Sally’s Baking Challenge is automatically entered. See below for How to Join Sally’s Baking Challenge. My assistants and I keep track of your photos and randomly select 1 winner at the end of the month. This giveaway is open to the whole world. Visit the Sally’s Baking Challenge FAQ page if you have any questions about my baking challenges!

Let’s Review the December Baking Challenge

December 2017 Sally’s Baking Challenge Recipe: Snowman Sugar Cookies

Each month, I witness more and more of you participating in these baking challenges. We ended the year with the most participation yet! This community is not only special, but massively talented. And this was the first time many of you worked with royal icing! It’s incredible.

One of my favorite recipe reviews came from reader Beth:

“Just took these out of the oven, they turned out perfectly! I’ve been looking for a sugar cookie that doesn’t spread, and this is my new go-to.”

We gathered as many snowman sugar cookies (and other shapes) photo entries as we could and included them below. (Email is the best way to guarantee your photo will be included!)
