And yes, Jude jumped into the freezing lake!! He loved it.

  1. I’m very jealous of all those autumn colours. It’s been so warm over here that the leaves have pretty much dropped off without changing colour much. Since my husband has planted our garden full of acers just for the autumn colours, he’s not amused!

  2. The most beautiful photos Sally šŸ™‚ You captured the essence of an autumn weekend tucked away in a lakeside retreat so perfectly that I feel like I could step into the frame.
My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to the USA in autumn next year, and I have only ever been over in the spring and summer, and I am looking forward to seeing all the leaves change and taking advantage of the awesome things you all do with pumpkin! Enjoy the rest of autumn/fall Sally šŸ™‚

    1. Amy, the fall is the best time to visit. Let me know if you need any suggestions! I haven’t traveled to all the corners of the US, but I know some great spots!

      1. Thank you so much Sally šŸ™‚ We are even hopefully meeting up with another one of your readers and her husband – Lynn from Fresh April Flours šŸ™‚ We met through your site!

  3. Beautiful pictures, Sally! Thanks for taking us with you by the lake through this lovely article. Simple pleasures is happiness!

  4. Oh, Sally! Thank you for bringing some fall to this Texas girl! We are just barely seeing some trees changing right now, and really even that is just a tease! We don’t get much in the way of fall gorgeousness around here. So thank you so much for the beautiful pics!!! One day I’m going to make it to New England in the fall– bucket list. This lake looks like it would be worth a trip for my husband and I!

  5. Sally, this weekend trip looks like it was a blast. I would love to surround myself with all that fall beauty. I love your pictures, btw! Food and photography are my passions and you do such a great job with both! šŸ™‚

  6. Those photo’s are just wonderful. I used to love walking in the park as a child and kicking the leaves about. Those photo’s just brought back lovely memories of me and my grandparents.

  7. So beautiful! I don’t live in a place with beautiful fall colors like this so I have to live vicariously through those who do. Lovely pictures!

  8. This place is beautiful, a place I only thought was in pictures. Me and My family are going to visit the northern areas of Pakistan this winter, I have heard that they have a breathtaking scenery!! You should visit here sometimes…
    Glad you enjoyed your weekend!!!

  9. Oh Sally….Lake W is so nice. So since you’re a poconos girl as opposed to a beach gal, you and Kevin MUST get to Raystown Lake in South Central PA. Not a terrible drive from MD, I promise! This is were Jim and I spend our summer vacations, and just came back from! Raystown Lake Region puts the Pocono mountains to shame (and I’ve been to the poconos since I’m a little girl)…..the mountains are huge here! Lots of peaks and valley’s like I’ve never seen in the Poconos. You must get there! It’s where we are probably moving to by Christmas The Lake itself is like 29 miles long. We can’t wait to take our Pontoon Boat out on the Lake this year to see the leaves at Raystown! HEAVEN. And you are right…it’s the ‘quiet, the tranquility, the crispness and the smells’ that hook you in! LOVE IT. Thanks for these awesome pics! I have that same Wagon Wheel actually on my front lawn. Thank you for sharing!

    1. Just texted this to Kevin– he said he’s heard of it! Known for their mountain bike trails he says. We both have never been there, but it sounds like such a fun adventure!
