White Chocolate Chip Cranberry Cookies.

by Sally on December 10, 2011 · 22 comments

My white chocolate chip cranberry cookies are darn near perfect.  Perfect amount of sweetness, chewiness, and white chocolateyness… well, that last one is most definitely not a word, but you get the point. :)

I brought them into work for a holiday lunch and people even asked me if they were from a bakery!  I took that as a compliment.

The recipe is SO very simple.  It is a basic drop cookie dough recipe with some dried cranberries and white chocolate chips thrown in.  It’s the same cookie dough recipe I used for my Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies.  The secret?  Adding a touch of cornstarch to the dough.  It creates the softest, thickest cookies ever!

Feel free to add in whatever add-ins are your favorite – chopped nuts, chocolate chips, dried fruit, etc.  Hope you enjoy!

Hey there would love to make this but just wondering how many they make as I want to make enough for a few teachers to thank them! Do you think this is a flavour combo which is liked by most? Thanks!!!

Ah no idea this was your first! Love your blog so much it is truly wonderful! Wow I will definitely be making them and I will tell you how they turn out – would you say it would make around 20?

If I remember correctly… I think it made around 24 cookies :)

Thank you! Also sorry again but just one quick question; do you think adding a few macademia nuts and reducing the cranberries would be a nice addition or would you say it would be too much and i should stick with the original?

Hey again Nadia! You can add in or switch up the add-in ingredients as much as you’d like! IF you like the nuts more than the craisins, just add more of those. And vice versa! Just try to stick to two cups of add-ins, whichever combination you choose! Let me know how they turn out :)

So confused – per our email I thought you just made these, but it was this time LAST year. Okay I get it now – I think :) Just saw them on FG and I am glad they appeared there! They look fabulous! And it’s crazy how much we think alike :)

I just finished making the white chocolate chip cranberry cookies and they are the absolute BEST cookies I have ever tasted! The texture of the dough is perfect. Thank you so much for this recipe!

Hi sally, i have a question for you, is It better to freeze the cookies or the dough ? Thank you!!

Reply

Sally November 16, 2012 at 3:18 pm

Both! But I would freeze the dough in balls. Roll the dough into balls and then freeze them individually. That way, you can bake up a FRESH cookie or two whenever you want!

Made these and they were great. What a nice addition to traditional Christmas cookies. Used them for a Christmas party.

Yes! this is a great recipe. I did both the chocolate chip and then the cranberry white chocolate. Great idea about the cornstarch. Thanks for posting. Both varieties were gone, in short order

Hi Annette! Wow! That is so great to hear that these cookies were a hit. I love them too! I need to try with regular chocolate chips. :)

I realized that I have made this recipe twice and haven’t commented on the page! Once I saw your pics, I knew that I had to try this. I even went to Costco for one of those giant bags of cranberries. I’m in love :) I add a slightly less amount of white chocolate chips, because the cranberries are a bit sweet. This particular cookie recipe is definitely a keeper, one of my favorites! The combination of flavors in a soft cookie is heaven-sent. Thank you Sally!!!

Hey Maddie! Well thank you SO much for taking the time to comment on the cookies! I love that you’ve made these twice. They are my go-to cookie dough recipe. It never fails me! I love how soft they are too. You can’t beat cranberry and white chocolate chip. So good!

For some reason my cookies did not “spread.” They stayed in the “drop/ball” shape. Any ideas what I did wrong?

Hi Erica! I do note in the recipe that you can gently press down on them when they come out of the oven to flatten them out. http://sallysbakingaddiction.com/2012/11/22/soft-baked-white-chocolate-chip-cranberry-cookies/
