I love being in my kitchen developing new recipes or tweaking old ones.  Getting my hands wet, my apron messy, and dirtying every measuring cup in the house (God bless my dishwasher).  Baking is my therapy.  Good for the mind aaaaand the tummy.  Somedays I could spend hours in the kitchen!

And today was…. not one of those days.


Today was a hot one in Baltimore.  Hot days and hot ovens DO NOT mix well in my teeny tiny apartment.  Unless I want to feel like I live in a sauna, I try not to turn on the oven on sweltering hot days.

Sooooo…. Sally’s Baking Addiction quickly turns into Sally’s No-Baking Addiction.

No-bake recipes are the bestest, right?!

Well, I honestly can’t think of a better way to no-bake something than to throw chocolate, butter, marshmallows, and Reese’s Puffs into a pan.  Reese’s Puffs are the sugary crack cereal that I never ate much of when I was growing up.  They are peanut butter + chocolate flavored crunchy sugar puffs that are quite addicting with or without milk.  Now that I’m a grown up, I can take these sugary little puffs of heaven and add even more sugar and butter to them because… well, why not?

And if that wasn’t enough, let’s just add a thick layer chocolate fudge frosting on top.

And throw on a TON of Reese’s Pieces. This is pure no-bake insanity!

Ugh, don’t you hate sweltering days? Especially when all you wanna do is bake, bake, bake but don’t want to actually bake yourself. Thank goodness for no-bake treats! These are AWESOME. Like chocolate + peanut butter sugar bomb AWESOME. And a perfect solution to a psycho-hot day!

They look so good and I can’t believe you made something, shot it, edited, and posted it…all on the same day! I am day(s) week(s) ahead. Sometimes a recipe will jump the line but by and large, it’s a 10 day lag. I am impressed!

And hot, small kitchen..yeah, I have one of those where everything melts…on contact :)

We almost always have a box of that cereal in our house. It is the perfect way to have peanut butter and chocolate for breakfast and not feel any guilt for it:-) No bake bars are such a sweet and yummy way to use up my favorite cereal…and with fudge frosting? Oh my word…this is awesome!!!

These look great! I love Reese’s Piece because they don’t have any chocolate. I also love cereal; I rediscovered Lucky Charms recently and am trying to think of something to make with them. Unfortunately my oven is on pretty much every day for one reason or another, and these new ovens blow hot air the entire time their on and for a couple hours after turning them off :( You’d think they could improve the technology by now.

What a yummy twist on rice krispie treats! And super decadent with the chocolate frosting on top. This is the best way to get your treats without sweltering over a hot oven! And they look so summery too.

I absolutely loved these and so did my family! The only problem I had was the chocolate spread on top never seemed to harden all the way. I’ve made this twice, the first I used the chocolate and butter and the second just chocolate. The plain chocolate seemed to work a little better than with butter and tasted just as good. If anyone has any clues as to get it to harden faster, let me know! I tried to refrigerate it too, as soon as it came out however it softened up again.

Hey Ellie! (I’ve always loved that name – Ellie) Anyway, the chocolate is definitely soft and melty. That’s just how it is. It doesn’t harden much. Try using 16 oz of melting chocolate instead – like Baker’s brand chocolate bars. Melt that and pour/spread over top. That will harden more than chocolate chips would because it is made for melting/hardening.
