50+ Gifts for the Baker

Baking Gift Ideas

Let’s celebrate the season of giving with my annual Gift Guide for Bakers. ♥

Whatever’s happening this holiday season, know that you’re not alone in its challenges. Gifting something thoughtful to another baker in your life is a wonderful way to spread joy– something we could all use this year.

Here are 50+ gift ideas for the baker in your life or if you need ideas for your own wish list. My assistant Hilari and I curated this list and included many options from small businesses and individual Etsy shops, places we all know could use the love and support this year. There’s also a special section if you’re shopping for little bakers and a handful of cookbooks written by immensely talented BIPOC chefs. Thank you so much for gathering here and spreading your sweetness inside and outside of the kitchen.

We also updated last year’s gift guide if you need even more inspiration!

All of these gifts are items I own or are products I see with wonderful reviews. None of this is sponsored– truly just items I love! Some of these links are affiliate links.

Specialty Baking

  • Cookie Scoops – Purchase all 3 sizes. I use the small for small cookies, truffles, and as a melon baller. I use the medium for cookies and the large is wonderful for large cookies, ice cream, and shaping meatballs.
  • Cookie Press – I love mine for spritz cookies. I also own and love these cookie stamps. (Stamped cookie recipe coming soon!)
  • Cookie Cutters – This cookie cutter set is perfect for all seasons.
  • Wilton Decorating Tip Kit – This set has it all. For sugar cookie decorating, I use round tips 1 – 5. For cupcake decorating, I use any of the star tips. Or tip 352 for sunflower cupcakes. To complete it, I’d gift piping bags too.
  • Americolor Gel Paste Kit – I love using Americolor gel food coloring for royal icing, frosting, red velvet treats, and cake batters– the colors are vibrant and beautiful.
  • Cake Turntable – Cake decorating is so much easier with a turntable. Pair with a couple icing spatulas for the cake bakers in your life.
  • Cookie & Cupcake Carrier – This works wonderfully for cupcakes and when I use it for cookies, I pile them super high. For cakes, I love this cake carrier. I even place decorated cakes and cupcakes in these carriers and store them in the refrigerator to keep them fresh.
  • Donut Pan – Make donuts at home!
  • Pie Dish – My favorite– I own 5 of them. For another option, I love these ruffled pie dishes. Complete the gift with pie weights and a pie crust shield.
  • Le Creuset Dutch Oven – A splurge! Worth it for the quality. I use mine for no knead breads, soups, stews, and more.

Books & Cookbooks

  • New World Sourdough cookbook by Bryan Ford. A bread baker must-have.
  • GrandBaby Cakes by Jocelyn Delk Adams. A wonderfully sweet book written by a wonderfully sweet and talented baker.
  • Even Better Brownies by Mike Johnson. Comes out next week, so go ahead and preorder it. Mike is a fellow blogger and his recipes are always a hit. Try his funfetti cake for two if you ever need something smaller!
  • Black Girl Baking by Jerelle Guy. I bought this beautiful cookbook earlier in the year. The wild blueberry drop biscuits are to die for.
  • The Secret to Hummingbird Cake by Celeste Fletcher McHale. You’ll want a slice of hummingbird cake once you finish this book!
  • The New Way To Cake by Benjamina Ebuehi. Stunning photography and very clear instructions. I’ve loved this cookbook.
  • The Book on Pie by Erin McDowell. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to make the best pies from scratch, get this brand new cookbook. It’s a masterpiece!
  • Weeknight Baking by Michelle Lopez. One of my favorites for practical baking recipes. I love all of Michelle’s recipes that I’ve tried!
  • Holiday and Celebration Bread in Five Minutes a Day by Jeff Hertzberg M.D. and Zoë François. This book makes bread baking approachable. I love their way of teaching.
  • Hello, Cookie Dough by Kristen Tomlan. My dear friend wrote a gorgeous cookbook all about edible cookie dough. My daughter (age 3) loves looking at all the pictures. This is a fun cookbook for all ages!
  • Cook’s Illustrated Baking Book by America’s Test Kitchen. I’ve learned so much from this cookbook. It’s my favorite and what I recommend to anyone who wants to begin developing recipes! (Try The Complete Baking Book for Young Chefs also by ATK. A wonderful cookbook for young bakers!)

Just another reason I follow you… not only do you provide useful tools and gifts, but you include the links and you even promote other chefs cookbooks! You’re so humble! Thanks for always providing great recipes and excellent content! Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. Thank you Christina, and Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!

  2. Is there anything wrong with site restyle.me? I’ve tried to purchase 4 different items from your link and nothing works. Advice? Thx

    1. Hi Debbie, it looks like the server for the affiliate service I use isn’t working this morning. Maybe too much traffic directed to their site. Regardless, I’m working on updating these links now.

      1. Thank you Sally for quick response. Hope it’s fixed soon, a lot of nice gifts.

      2. Most of them are updated now, Debbie! Thank you so much.

  3. I am so glad you posted this! I just made a mental note yesterday to do a search on your site for baker must haves for my stocking ;). Particularly, I have been trying to function without owning cookie scoops for years and this Christmas that needs to change lol. I feel like most of your recipes that I frequent use the 1.5 size so I’m going to start there! Happy holidays! P.S. I am never going to enjoy pumpkin anything without homemade salted caramel drizzle again now lol. P.P.S. I have your Great Pumpkin Pie, No Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake and Best Pumpkin Cake Ever all prepared for tomorrow… and that’s only for a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 littles). Thinking of skipping the meal altogether and just having dessert haha. Thank you so much for helping me make holidays festive, fun and delicious for my loved ones! My family totally thinks I am a baking legend because of SBA. Thankful for you! I am such a fan girl, happy Thanksgiving Sally! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for the kind and thoughtful note, Janel! Sounds like you have a delicious Thanksgiving ahead of you 🙂 Have a wonderful holiday!

  4. Thank you for this list!
Just a note, it seems like most of the links that start with rstyle.me do not work.

    1. I noticed that just now, Irene. It looks like the server for the affiliate service I use isn’t working. I’m working on updating those links now. Thank you so much!

  5. I may or may not have forwarded this post to my husband so quickly I ripped a hole in the space-time continuum.

According to his family, I’m really hard to shop for. I don’t think I am, but now he has a list to give them! He just has to, you know, remove the things that I already have 😉

    1. Too funny! Hope you get some fun new items from this list 🙂

  6. The loaf pan is no longer available. I purchased the 9×13 USA Pan Bakeware earlier this year from your recommendation. What would you recommend in it’s place since the loaf pan – 9×5 – is no longer available and I cannot find elsewhere online. Is purchasing a smaller pan ok, or would it be too small? You are always my go to for recipes and I am thankful for your site. Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. Stephanie @ Sally's Baking Addiction says:

Hi Heather, Sorry that it’s out of stock on Amazon! You can search for it on other sites or this is another good option: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00008W70I/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=sallsbakiaddi-20&linkId=0c77db5155c7792ee1a84a8c2e4556f6&language=en_US

  7. Hi Sally!
The link to the pie crust shield takes me to the pie weights. Just wanted to let you know. Thank you so much for everything you do! 🙂 I love every recipe!!

    1. Hi Erin! I just updated that. Hard to keep our heads on straight with all these links! 🙂 Appreciate you letting us know.

  8. This looks awesome! I may add four of them to my wishlist! Thank you Sally! Again.

    1. You’re very welcome, Emily!

  9. Wonderful ideas–thank you!

    1. You bet, Denise!

  10. Thank you so much for your generosity… as always you are always a blessing to us home bakers… thank you for the ideas and continue to inspire us! God bless u always

What a fantastic list! As a follower from Canada I am grateful that many of these things can be found on amazon.ca. I am also beyond excited to see you recommending this sprinkle company – Sweetapolita! They are a Canadian company and their sprinkles are phenomenal. I have a professional baker friend in my life and these are the sprinkles she almost exclusively uses. I also can attest to the fact that I have eaten numerous baked items [more than I am willing to confess to!] From several bakeries [that I don’t know the owners of] who also exclusively use the sprinkles and I can personally attest to the fact that not only are they gorgeous but they also taste good. That can be a hard combination to find! Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving!

    1. They’re my favorite! So many fun colors and designs. Thanks for reading this gift list, Julia!

  12. As always, a wonderful list of so many options for gifts! I also love that it came out on my birthday. Guess I’ll have to share this with my husband.
    Thanks Sally!

    1. So perfect 🙂 Happy belated birthday, Amy!

  13. I know this sort of off topic, but does anyone know where I could get a temporary tattoo of a Kitchenaid mixer?

  14. I am looking at the reviews on Amazon for the USA Baking sheet you recommended. Many said it warped, became discolored and/or the coating pealed off. Have you had any problem with any of these?
    Thank you
    Diane

    1. Hi Diane, I’m just seeing your comment/question now so my apologies for the delay. I’ve never had my USA Pans warp before but they can become discolored and peel coating if they’re put in the dishwasher. (Hand wash is recommended.) I also really like Nordic Ware half sheet pans, also linked above.
